About Your Tutors:

Garry Schlatter: Passionate landscape and nature photographer Garry prefers the low light situations for much of his work. He has a terrific sensitivity for capturing exquisite atmosphere, colour and light.

Self taught, he is an inspiration to others wanting to turn their landscape
images into amazing scenes.
"We live in a wonderful world, there is so much to discover and to share."

Augustine Mathews: With a fervour for photography that leaves many in awe, Augustine loves her landscape photography! She is an outside girl and never happier than standing on a long a beach, on a cliff edge, in the middle of a field or even on her deck with camera, tripod and cable release.

Her folio of images from across the world is stunning. Her eagerness to pass on her skills and extend her own knowledge by continually pushing new boundaries is unrelentless. Augustine proves the theory that photography can be learnt by doing it.

What Happens If?

I don't have a tripod?
This is a fundamental piece of equipment you should own to go to this next stage of photography and a prerequisite to attend the tour.

I don't have a car?
The ferries do take walk on passengers and we will be able to refer car hire options or put you in touch if another participant has a spare seat. We can only provide transport in our Bluedog vehicle if you are aware that under no circumstances we are liable for any injuries that may (and we do hope not, but ah insurance is insurance) occur and we would only have limited seating if such is the case.

It rains?
We can't tell Mother Nature what to do, but we will be checking the weather and be keeping all those informed if it looks like bad weather may be coming. Please keep in mind, a change in weather often provides us with marvellous photography experiences such as Augustine’s amazing 5 lighting strikes on one of our Stradbroke Tours.

I forget something?
We'll be sending out reminders and the full list again to those that register hoping you don't forget anything. Supplies are limited on the island especially for photography gear so our advice is check and recheck and recheck and recheck and we are sure by now you get the idea.

I can't come to this one - will there be another?
Yes! This is a wonderful opportunity and an area photographer’s travel to from around the world to photograph – we’ll be back!
